This article will explain how a member can reverse a chargeback and what the reversal process entails.
Note: Only the member or Issuing Bank can reverse a chargeback. The ClubReady Chargeback team will attempt to prove to the member's bank that the disputed funds are owed to the Club, but ultimately, the decision to reverse is entirely up to the member or Issuing Bank. The club can get the funds back one of three ways; the ClubReady Chargeback Team winning the case, the member requesting their bank to reverse the dispute, or the Issuing Bank has found new information, prompting a reversal on their own.
How a Member can Reverse their Chargeback
The member will need to contact their bank and request they reverse the
dispute.
The Reversal Process
Once the member's bank receives the reverse request, the bank will issue a letter to the member. This letter will include a statement from the bank acknowledging the cardholder's acceptance of the
charge and that the account will be re-debited for the amount. This letter is sufficient proof for ClubReady to issue a conditional credit for the charged back payment to the club. A bank statement with proof of the rebill will also be accepted. The funds will not be redeposited into the club's bank account until either the letter is received by ClubReady or we receive direct notification from the Issuer that the dispute has been withdrawn.
Reversal Timeframe
Reversals can take as little as a few days or as long as several months. Ultimately, the timeframe of the reversal process is dependent upon when ClubReady receives the letter from the member. The chargeback will not be reversed until the letter is received.
