This article will walk you through key items to keep in mind when going through the Moneris gateway setup process for Canada locations.
1. What is Moneris?
Due to Canada regulations requiring use of EMV -Compliant terminals, for your UPFRONT or “SWIPE” transactions which are considered ‘card present’ transactions, ClubReady must advise that you will need to use an external card reader terminal in order to run these transactions.
Initial payments taken in person such as down payments when opening a membership, or sale of products such as water, gloves, or toe-socks are examples of these types of transactions.
You may choose to go through your current bank to obtain an external terminal, or as an alternate choice to your banking institution, you may contact Moneris directly to set that up. Moneris is a merchant provider that often sets up external accounts for ClubReady subscribers.
2. Who do I contact in Moneris?

3. How long before I open should I get this setup?
The external reader will need to be set up before beginning taking payments in your site.
4. How do I take credit card payment in ClubReady?
This option is for the club to mark the payment as paid in ClubReady but the credit card will be run at an external terminal (Moneris). At the time of payment, you will be required to use the external terminal to take payment with the credit card.
When taking payment using the Point of Sale, select EXTERNAL. This will mark the invoice as paid in the system.
