In an effort to prevent multiple fees from being incurred due to insufficient funds at the time of the transaction, we will be implementing an update that will automatically disable a customer’s ACH payment profile if an ACH return for NSF is received.
What is changing?: When an ACH return occurs for Insufficient Funds, the customer’s ACH payment profile will be disabled to avoid continuous return fees. This action will help prevent further charges associated with reattempted transactions. The customer will then be able to make necessary updates to their preferred payment method, and the account can be re-activated once the changes are made.
Viewing Disabled Payment Profiles: The system will automatically add a note to the customer's notes history.

Return codes that will trigger profile disabling:
- 901 – NSF (Debit Only)
- R901 – NSF (Debit Only)
- R01 – Insufficient Funds
Best Practice Tip: ACH payments can be a great tool for your best customers. However, if a customer frequently experiences return fees, we recommend switching them to credit card payments as a more reliable way to avoid these issues.
What is next?: A new report feature will soon be available that allows studios to isolate and view disabled profiles. This will allow them quickly view which customers have no payment profile to easily manage those accounts.
