This article will guide you through using the contactless POS device.
Please Note:
- With Tap to Pay, any Point of Sale (POS) transactions made through the device are limited to a 45 day return window. This applies only to Card Present transactions using the device. After 45 days, refunds cannot be processed through the device itself, though studios may still issue refunds by check. This 45-day limit does not apply to Card Not Present or Draft transactions.
- The Tap to Pay card number may not match the swipe number or the number on the physical card due to the use of tokenization. When using Tap to Pay, a unique digital token is generated to represent the card for that specific transaction. This token is different from the actual card number, which helps to protect the card's details and enhance security. As a result, the number displayed for a Tap to Pay transaction is not the same as the physical card number or the number generated for a swipe transaction.
- To use the Mag-Tek device to capture the customer's credit card information, select the 'Enter' button first, then swipe the card; the 'Swipe' button is no longer available.
1. Go to the POS Checkout page > click on the CARD button.
Enter the desired payment amount (Defaulted to the entire amount).
There will be a list of activated POS Devices. Click on the device you want to use.
2. A pop-up will display the amount and “INITIATING”. The device will display “triPOS”
3. When the page displays “INITIATED”, the device will display “INSERT, TAP OR SLIDE CARD”
4. Proceed to insert or tap card. Confirm amount by pressing the small F3 button (circled in green).
The device will display APPROVED (or declined).
The device will display “triPOS”, ready for the next transaction.
5. The pop-up will disappear, showing the pending payment (“Unknown Credit Card”) and approval text (“No action required”).
Continue by clicking “COMPLETE THIS SALE”, adding another payment, or clicking VOID to void the transaction.
NOTE: At this time, the card brand, last4 and expiry is not available. In a future, we expect to have this information and display it appropriately.
In the event of an error (Decline, Timeout, etc), the decline/error message will be displayed with a red “x” button. Click the “x” to delete the payment and add an additional payment method.
NOTE: The device appears to have a 1 minute timeout to insert/tap/swipe, and a 1 minute timeout to confirm the transaction.
