This article will guide you through the steps for troubleshooting if you have encountered common problems with the Ingenico Link 2500 Credit Card Reader.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before proceeding with troubleshooting, please refrain from deleting our devices in your POS Devices setup in ClubReady.
Troubleshooting Specific Issues:
Payment option does not display
- Press 0001.
- WIFI Parameters.
- My Networks and check for their network.
- If you see the network and it does not say it is connected, press on the network, and press Connect.
- If it shows Other, delete the Other option and go back to Scan Networks.
- If the attempt fails, delete the network, and in WIFI Parameters, instead of going to My Networks, go to Scan Networks.
- Locate the network and put in the password. Go back to My Networks and look for the network and see if it says connected.
- Press the yellow button and pound (#) key to restart the device.
- If you cannot find your network, try finding it on your phone and connect to it to make sure that a device can connect to your network.
Device is not working
- Restart the device - Reboot: Hold down the yellow button and the pound button at the same time for 3-5 seconds, until the terminal turns off. Once off, hold the green button until the device powers on.
Chip Reader is not working
- Turn off the device. Visually check if anything is stuck in the card reader slot. Use a very thin screwdriver or a long piece of plastic to carefully remove the stuck object from the card reader slot and power on the device.
- If the problem persists, try rebooting the chip reader.
- Deactivate the Ingenico Link 2500 and activate.
Magnetic Card Reader Does Not Work Properly (swipe)
- When sliding the card through the reader, make sure that the magnetic stripe on the card is facing the Link 2500.
- Swipe the card at a faster or middle steady speed.
- Inspect the magnetic stripe on the card to make sure it is not scratched or badly worn.
Testing for Card Issues:
Host Device Testing:
- If available, try swiping the card on the host device's magnetic stripe reader.
- Alternatively, test the card on another functioning Link 2500 device.
