This article will assist you in locating where an email template is being used and how to remove an email template from its assignment(s) so it can be archived.
Note: Only studio-level email templates can be edited and archived. Corporate created templates, (indicated by "[corp]"at the end of the template name) can only be managed at the corporate level. To learn how to archive an email template, click HERE.
Email templates can have multiple assignments including, but not limited to the following:
- A system email
- A lead type
- An automation rule
Step 1. Locating where an email template is being used.
Navigate to Setup > Communication > Email Templates. Locate the email template in question and select the edit pencil. Any email template labeled with a red start indicates the template is in use and needs to be removed from its assignment before it can be archived. In the General section of the template setup, you will find a list of the places where this template is being used.
Step 2. Removing an email template from its assignment.
Once you've checked the email template and found where it is assigned, you can then go to each location and remove the template or assign a different template. Below is a screenshot showing where the template assignment would be changed for a Lead Type.
